♪ Our future life will be glorious, come with me.. FUTURE WORLD!! ♪ ♪ !

In the next 5 years, I’m going to finish my university studies of Psychology. Then, I’ll hope to work in a school as a educational psychologist, or in an nongovernment organization (NGO) as a community psychologist.

And in 5 years from now, I would like to do a master in psychology. Now I don’t have decided what kind of paradigm will guide my job, but I know that will not be the psychoanalysis. Maybe, I’ll work as Clinical Psychology, but I don’t like to classify people as healthy or ill as if I use labels. I prefer help in other way.

Personally, I’ll hope to live in a quiet place, and I would like to travel to Europe or Polynesian Islands. Maybe, I’ll live with a girl that I can love in the future. But we will not have any children until we will be older than 28 years old. I’ll hope to have a healthy life again.

I would like that the things could be better than now, in many ways. Now I’m working for it, I’m living in the best possible way; I’m studying a lot, and I’m taking care me the best that I can.

Hi, Today I'm talking about why I'm studying Psychology.

When I was 16, I had not decided what I would like to be after the secundary. I had two options on my mind: to be an army officer or to be a psychologist.
My father and my brother are army soldiers, and I thought that it could like to me. My father always said: "Jorge, only you must to decide. You can do anything you want, but you have only one chance".
I did the army service when I was in 3rd grade, some saturdays of the year. But I didn't like this. I wasn't good to follow the orders of my superiors in mechanic way. For this, I deleted this option of my mind. Still, I did a good job, and now I'm a reservist sergeant.
I decided to study psychology because I like to think and to analize the human behavior and feelings. I have always dedicated much time to do this, and I needed to put in order my ideas and to summarise them. The best way was to study psychology in one of the best chilean universities.

A psychologist can contribute to society in many ways, not only in the health area: working in schools and improving the educational system, doing school programs to enable children to attain maximum achievement and adjustment; helping in the selection, placement, and promotion of the personnel in differents organizations, recommending changes to increase efficiency and decrease accident rate; investigating social behavior and colaborating to the empowerment of communities and people. In the university we can develop differents habilities and we can learn to use many tools that we could to need in the future.

Personally, I prefeer the Social Psychology, also called Community Psichology, and the Educational Psychology, because I would like to work with several people at once.
In the future, I will need to be very empathic, observer, innovator and to have much tolerance for frustration, also I will need to manage knowledge in application of many psychological tests and knowledge in the relationship and educational areas.

I hope to do my best job, and you also do your best job in your favorite area.

I love them

Hi. The last week I didn't go to the english class, because I didn't feel very well. Now I feel better, and I can upload one of my photograph collection. First, I have to say that I don't have my laptop because I send it to the technical service, and I can't access to search my files.

I rescued this photograph of my Facebook Profile. In it you can see a girl and a baby. The girl is Sonia, an anthropology student who was my girlfriend. The baby is my nephew, Álvaro Maximiliano. I took this photograph in August 31 of the last year, the day after his first birthday.

I like this picture because here appears two persons that I love so much. I know them since one and one-half year aproximately, and in this little time they have become very important to me =)

EBSCO, my favorite database

This week I have a lot of work. I'm very tired now because I can't sleep very well.
I'll talk you about EBSCO: the site that does my life easier.
The EBSCOhost Web is a database search engine owned by EBSCO Industries, Inc. This website I collect nine differents database in a meta-database.

I use this site since two years to search and read a lot of papers, full texts, electronic publications, and academic and cientific magazines that was written in the last 50 years. There are five thousands publications aproximately. The publications are in differents languages and formats, as PDF, DOC and HTML.
I found it when I visit the "Información y Bibliotecas" section of the Universidad de Chile website.

I use this website always that I need to search especific information of psychology or other social science.

This website receives several queries each day, and is used by my friends and fellows to do our homework.

Now I must leave the university to travel to my house =)

I'm Techie and I love my notebook!

Hi! Today I'm going to talk you about my favorite piece of technology: the notebook. My notebook is an Compaq Presario, model v3218LA.

I have it since April 2007, when I and my parents went to the store Paris (Curicó) to buy it.

I use it with an AC adapter, because the storage capacity of the battery is "Low" and it should to be replaced. When I turn on my notebook, it take between half and one minute to charging the Windows XP Service PAck 3 Operative System.

I can use my notebook in differents ways, for example: to do my homeworks, to surf in internet, to chat with my friends and to participate social networks, to play games, to see videos, pictures and to listen my music.

I use my notebook usually, and if I left in otherside and I can't use it, I use the dad's Desktop PC. But isn't the same. I love my notebook because I can do many tasks at the same time, and I can connect to internet in any place with wireless network. If I wouldn't have my notebook I would have serious problems to do my homeworks, because I live in a residence with 30 persons aproximately, and here only exist two Desktop PCs. My life would be boring and problematic T_T

Now I'm hungry and this is a BIG problem. What a pity that my notebook can't cook my dinner!

My name is Jorge Tapia and I'm student of Psychology. I was born in Curicó, but actually I live in Santiago, near of the Campus Juan Gómez Millas of the Universidad de Chile.
I'm in a English Pre-Intermediate course or English Level 3, because I can read in English but I need more practice oral and listening exercises.
I want to learn more of this language because a lot of paper that I read are writen in English.
