To be or not to be... a sport fanatic!

I like some different sports, but now I don’t play next to nothing. Some sports that I like are soccer, box, karate, wu-shu, racing, fencing, basketball, between others. But my favourite sport is soccer, because is a economic and massive sport to play. Near of my residence, are two courts, and some days, when I have free time, I go with my partners and neighbours.
Soccer is the only sport that I play now, but only around three times in a month.
When I travel to Curico, I go to my cousin’s fast-food local to see soccer matches, because there he has many sports channels, as CDF or FOXsports.
I’m not a sports fanatic, because I don’t pass the time watching sports news or matches, and I don’t die if I lose a match or scores. I like see the matches, overcoat if there is a Chilean player. I like the game style of “El Mago Valdivia”: he control the ball, goes over to the enemies and deliver the ball to his partners very well.
But, one sport that I would like to play is fencing. Really, I would like to learn the rules and to have the money to buy the equipment and pay the classes. One of reasons that deprive me of hope is the high cost of this sport.
I think that fencing is a very exigent sport, because it requires concentration, good physical condition, good reflexes and high-speed; in other words: to be and to perform like a spring. Well, I consider it like a elite sport, and I really think that I never could play it, but to dream is free.

Take a walk!

Uf... if you ask me how well I know Santiago, my answer could be very relative. I have live here almost three years, but I couldn’t visit many places. I have gone to the Cerro San Cristobal only once, for an academic activity in the Zoo, but that time I couldn’t walk and know other areas of this hill.
Still, the last year I had the opportunity to walk with a partner and know some places that look well to me. Many times I was request to this girl if she could show me some attractive places in Santiago, and the kind of relation that we had, able us to go to different places.
If I were a tourist, and believe me that I’m nearly to be it, I would go to Cerro San Cristobal. Here you can walk, run and do many sports and I imagine that the look in the top is beautiful, naturally, if the smog doesn’t cover it. When the authorities proclaim Pre-Emergency’s Day, the sports activities are suspended, to prevent healthy problems.
Other site that you would visit is the Parque Quinta Normal. This is a big square where you could found, besides green areas and beautiful wild, a variety of important Chilean museums as
XXXXXXXX. Here you could have a picnic, to walk, to rest, to study, to visit the museums and sail in a little boat with a partner.

First Term's Balance

Well, here I am again writing a brief balance of the last term. But, was my first term really balanced? Uff, it’s a hard question to answer. Last term was as a long switchback.
On the whole, I could say this weighing machine has more than two arms, and more arms than Vishnu, Krishna or Brahma (someone wants a beer?), or all of them together.
Firstly, I need to rescue some positive things of the last term. In relation to my friends, I could make friends with people with I had some problems in the past, and also I met new friends who arrived to the residence where I live. With them we organize a lot of different activities: we go out to drink or eat something, we get together to play music, or do something to forget the routine and the bad moments.
The bad moments of the last term are marked for the finish of courtship. However I lived good moments with my ex, and I could enjoy some special moments with she and her family. Regardless how were the things, now I prefer don’t talk about this. In relation to my health, I had (and will have too) some problems with my chest, my axis vertebra, and a few problems with my heart. Ah! And I was sick with AH1N1.
Sometimes I played soccer with my friends, or do exercises, but the health problems didn’t enable me to do some physical efforts.
I used the time of the last term to put in order some ideas and feelings and to take some important decisions, as the areas that I'm going to study.
Well, I must to lunch. See you later

Painful but entertaining experience

Uuuufff... How was my blogging experience? It was an exhausting experience, but I could enjoy it.
To do the blog sessions was exhausting because I needed much time to put in order my ideas and to can write this in a foreign language. It wasn’t habitual for me. My level of English first only allowed me to read and to understand English texts, but I couldn’t write in English quickly. Before, I needed to think the phrases in Spanish and then I could translate them. Now, I can do faster than before, but not at the speed that I would like. Still I sometimes need to do the exercise of think and then translate the phrases.
I could enjoy it because I like to search music, pictures, and videos, and then to edit my posts adding something of compiled audiovisual material. I used much of the session time editing the contents of my blog in laboratory or in my house. I enjoy it, but it exhausts me too. Sometimes I had neck ache or other kinds of muscular ache, product of keep in uncomfortable body position.
Now I think my blogging experience helped me to increase some skills related with reading and writing in English. But continue my difficulties to talk in English. My biggest problem with this foreign language is can’t to keep a fluid conversation, and blog activities haven’t could help me in this way.
But its advantage is helping us to practice and remember our writing skills. Still, the time that we used posting in blog is too much, and we would use it better in class, trying to talk in English and learn more grammatical knowledge of this language.
I hope you will consider this opinion, and the charge persons reduce the time and number of blog sessions.

That’s all folks!
See you in the future!

My ideal job, in this moment, could be an idle person. Yes, would be ideal to rest a lot of time of the day and to win money doing nothing, or could do anything that I like to do, could be happy with the important persons in my life, with my friends and family. To enjoy each moments, each seconds of my life, and making them happy.
But the reality is different.

Everyday we are exposed to different events that can change our life in many ways. Things can happen although we don’t want it. In this aspect, we can make decisions and choose between different options. We can do something that we would do to be happy.
Really, my ideal job isn’t to do absolute nothing. My ideal job is to do something that I like to do: I would be a musician. I would like to be a component of a little band, but a little band that could to reach many people with its music. I would like to play the guitar, and to play amazing riffs and guitar solos. But before, I need to increase my creativity and to learn special techniques used on the guitar, because this activity needs speed and precision of hands movements, as the sweep pecking that basically it’s a technique that "economize" the pick movements, making a few moves to make many notes quickly.
I think I would be good in this job because I can do some techniques as palm mute, legato, slide, hammer-ons and pull-offs, tapping, natural and artificial harmonics, among others. Other quality that I would need is patience, because in a band can always be differences of opinion.
The difficulty to be a guitarist would be the lack of resources and time, and the difficulty to find a good manager and a label to record the disks. Also, is very hard be recognized in the current market: full of different artists, bands, and styles.
Still, it’s something that I would do in parallel to my life of psychologist.

Two of many guitar styles:
Neo-classical (mixing classical compositions and rock)

Instrumental Rock (incorporating jazz, fusion, new age, and country and western music into his recordings)

Take care and I hope you are what you want to be =)

Review of "Schools kill creativity"

“We have to rethink the fundamental principles on which we're educating our children.” If we start to think how the educational system around the world is configured, we would never ask ourselves why are math and language more important in every curriculum or the world. We are so used to think that these subject are mor eimportant that we even desestimate others things such as art and music. We even discourage kids, and not only kids, we make adults feel as if they were not smart enough to be as successful, and make people think that if they are better at art they are never going to succed in life, what at the time tends to obligate people to study something thats useful for production and the capitalist way of life in which we are now living in.
That´s one of the biggest problems in current societies, education was formed during industrialism. So now, as a consequence, the world needs people to work in the different levels that capitalism needs. We are taking creativity out of kids just for our functional needs, we are forming adults for production. Let´s value art and music as a form of intelligence. Academic achivment it´s not only being good at math. Let´s forget about that sort of achivment imposed by work needs. Let´s value differents ways of creating things, let´s value creativity itself.

I vote for Community Psychology!

My favorite subject is Community Psychology, one of the five introductory subjects of this semester. The proffesors who teaches this subject are Rodolfo Sapiains, Germán Rozas and Rodrigo Quiroz.

I like this subject because this stream of thought and work shows a clear political commitment in favor of the oppressed and the respect for the fundamental human rights. This discipline promotes the community development and the empowerment of social actors, so they can build their own reality. Additionally, Community Psychology was born on the quest for more humanitary solutions to issues of health, and for it, this discipline feeds on the knowledge from anthropology, sociology, psychology, psychiatry and other areas.
This semester I have learned to know the nuances of community work, its limitations, and possibilities for action, and also I had the opportunity to visit a community center called Centro Remolinos. This center works with childrens, victims of commercial sexual exploitation, resignified traumas and abuses suffered by them.

The next semester I hope to take subjects related with the community area.
